This poster was created for a showcase focusing on upcoming designers, i.e. the new generation. Hosted by asmallstudio and AIGA Cleveland, this was a chance to share our best or newest work. I chose to create a new work according to my interpretation; being ready for the future. My inspiration came from my newfound knowledge about sustainability in design and how many products still use single-use plastics and other materials that take years to decompose. The final poster above was featured at the AIGA Cleveland Wrapped Party of 2024, along with being featured in a collage with every design submitted.
This creative process involved numerous ideas, since the theme was open to interpretation.

I originally wanted the letters to have a stronger glow effect to stand out, but I had to lower the intensity when the text kept stealing attention from the picture. I then switched to the gray lettering, which ensured the type was still visible but better balanced against the picture.
